Everyone at Super Jewel Box has long concerned with the environment before the recent media interest, and as such we would like to publish the following facts:
Since 2005 Super Jewel Box has been a certified Sony Green Partner. This designation is given to suppliers that cooperate with specific procedures for reducing or eliminating environmentally harmful substances in their parts, devices and especially raw materials. Super Jewel Box and the manufacturing partners were reviewed on the environmental protection practices as well its control of operations and processes. The successful completion of the rigorous certification process validates Super Jewel Box products and manufacturing systems as being as green as possible, as well as the company's commitment to the environment.
Furthermore, Super Jewel Box products are designed to last longer, the increased durability e.g. through much stronger hinges is one feature of all Super Jewel Box products.
All Super Jewel Box products are made of first grade polystyrene, a waste by-product of the oil industry, and are 100% recyclable. Since Super Jewel Box products are made from only one component or raw material, they are cheaper and easier to recycle compared to products made from multiple raw materials. Consumers who consider the impact on the environment when making product purchasing decisions need to understand this, and should insist on packaging that is 100% recyclable as opposed to being biodegradable.
